The Country

Margarita is the largest island of Nueva Esparta province and one of the most important of the Caribbean, a free port with its own administration and relatively independent from mainland Venezuela. The Island emerges from the warm waters of the Caribbean sea, located on the north eastern coastline of Venezuela in a completely hurricane free area. Its surface is 1150 Km2 with 315 km of beaches, an average year round temperature of 29 °C
and 350 days of tropical sunshine. Nature offers a great variety of scenary like tropical rain forests, semiarid areas, mountains, planes and fantastic beaches.
